CHOOSING YOUR HAIR UNIT
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR HAIR TEXTURE.
-
Consider How Much Maintenance You Want.
- Straight textures generally require low to moderate maintenance. It is easy to brush, style and maintain.
- Wavy textures generally require moderate maintenance to maintain the wave pattern.
- Curly textures generally require the most maintenance, with regular moisture and detangling for the curl pattern to be refreshed, to maintain definition and prevent tangling.
-
Which Texture Might Be Best For You?
- Straight hair can be restyled into different looks relatively easily. Wavy hair can be worn with its natural wave or styled differently. Curly hair tends to require more effort to preserve and refresh the original curl pattern.
- If you are a grab-and-go girlie, a straight or a wavy texture may be easier to work into your routine.
- If you enjoy styling your hair, a wavy or curly texture gives you more to play with.
- If you do not mind spending time caring for your hair, a curly texture can be a great choice if you are happy to dedicate a little more time to maintaining the texture.

If you know you want a wavy or curly texture but are not sure which pattern is right for you, be sure to take a look through our different textures and pay attention to the curl or wave pattern you naturally gravitate towards. We also recommend visiting our Instagram and TikTok to see our textures on real people and in their natural state without styling before making your decision.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR HAIR COLOUR.
-
How Much Colour Do You Want?
- All-over colour is when the entire wig unit or bundle is one colour.
- Highlights are when colour is incorporated into selected sections.
- Colour combinations are when two or more shades are blended together.
- All-over colour is when the entire wig unit or bundle is one colour.

One of the best things about ordering your hair from Amoke Ade Hair is the ability to customize your colour. Whether you have a specific shade in mind, want to recreate a colour you have seen before or want to combine multiple colours, you can send us your inspiration, and we can discuss how to bring your desired look to life.
When choosing your colour, we recommend visiting our Instagram and TikTok to see our colours on real people. Seeing a colour in natural lighting and on an actual wig or bundle can give you a much better idea of how the shade looks than a colour name or digital swatch alone. Please keep in mind that colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting, camera settings and your screen.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR HAIR LENGTHS.
-
What Does Hair Length Actually Mean?
- Hair length is the measurement of the hair from the top of the hair to the ends. When you select a length, the number refers to the actual length (in inches) of the hair rather than how long it may appear when worn.
- Our length chart is intended to give you a general idea of how different lengths may look when worn. Keep in mind that the appearance of a particular length can vary depending on the height of the wearer.
- Hair length and fullness are two different things. Two wigs can be the same length but have different appearances depending on how full the hair is from root to tip. If you prefer your longer hair to maintain a fuller appearance towards the ends, we highly recommend considering double drawn hair, particularly for straight and wavy textures from 24 to 30 inches.
-
Why The Same Length Can Look Different.
- Height: A 20-inch wig will naturally appear longer on someone shorter than on someone taller.
- Hair texture: Straight hair generally appears longer than wavy or curly hair at the same length because waves and curls take up some of the hair's overall length.
- Styling: Hair that is worn straight will generally show more of its full length than hair that has been curled, waved or styled otherwise.

Please note that our hair units are true to length, and our length guides are intended as a general reference. The way a particular length appears may vary depending on the height of the wearer. Hair lengths may also appear differently depending on the texture, curl pattern and how the hair is styled.
VIRGIN HUMAN HAIR VERSUS RAW HUMAN HAIR
-
What Is Raw Human Hair?
- Raw human hair is hair in its most natural state that has not undergone any processing. It is generally collected directly from a donor and has not been chemically altered in any way.
- Simply put, raw hair is cut directly from one donor's head and sanitized. The texture and colour of that donor's hair are exactly what you get. If the texture or colour is altered in any way, it is no longer considered raw hair.
- Because raw hair has more natural variation, two bundles may not look exactly the same. You may notice differences in texture, curl pattern, thickness or colour from one bundle to another. This is part of what makes raw hair unique.
- Raw hair generally also requires more maintenance because it has not been processed to create a consistent texture or appearance. For example, if you purchase multiple raw bundles, each bundle may have slightly different characteristics. This means you may need to spend more time detangling, styling and maintaining the hair to keep the overall look consistent. Textures that naturally have more variation can also require more care to preserve their pattern.
- Raw hair can be a good choice if you love a very natural look and do not mind putting in additional time and effort to maintain it.
-
What Is Virgin Human Hair?
- Virgin human hair is human hair that can be collected from one or multiple donors, sorted and prepared to create a more consistent texture or colour.
- Because the hair is prepared for consistency, you can expect the bundles to have a more uniform appearance, making it easier to achieve the look you have in mind.
- Virgin hair is a great choice if you want quality human hair with a more consistent and predictable appearance.
